We've just taken our toddler to Clarks and he needs new shoes, the only problem is that he's got quite narrow feet (size 5.5E), but the only ones available in his size are brown and boring (and he's already had those)! What other shops are good for toddler shoes (I know we could just get shoes from the supermarket etc, but I'd rather go somewhere that'll make sure the shoes fit properly)? Thanks

Start-Rite. You can get them at Brantano and John Lewis among others. Not cheap mind.
Bobux make some pretty nice shoes. I think they tend to be sold in more independent small retailers though. As mentioned, you could measure yourself and buy online. Have done the shoe measuring queue in JL. It can be a bit of a madhouse and you end up buying what they have in stock rather than your first choice because you just want to get the hell out of there.

Also check local shoe shops for loyalty cards. By 9 get the 10th free was useful when our two were smaller. Still is for our friends with 5 kids. £180 every September for school shoes!
Narrow feet = Startrite and an empty wallet. Both my kids had narrow feet, C or D width, Clarkes only cater for fat feet! Although even Startrite struggled when my son needed an adult size 8 in a C fitting.

Anecdotally, other parts of Southern Europe tend to have somewhat narrower feet than we do up north. Consequently they make narrower shoes, and many of them crop up in TK Maxx since Europeans also seem to like expensive designer type shoes for their kids. We've had loads of bargains there for my youngest who has narrow ish feet, but hardly anything in there fits my eldest.
You have to verify your own fitting but it's not rocket science. Check they're not too tight across the middle (he'll complain if they are), check for toe room (3/4" or so) and check for heel lift.
