Are there recommendations for a family holiday company doing summer adventure trips in The Alps, Dolomites or Pyrenees? A mixture of cycling, canyoning, canoeing, walking etc. Aimed at two boys 13 and 16 and my wife and I.

Cheers

Do you need a company? The more popular resorts are well set up for this sort of thing and you can just book each activity directly. Usually just need to book a day or two in advance although some will do walk ins. My personal favourites for easy DIY are Morzine in the Alps and Luchon in the Pyrenees. More than enough activities to keep you busy.

Have a look at the Cevenne in southern France as well. Should tick all your requirements. A number of canvas bungalow companies operate around there.

The Dolomites are not known for water based activities. There are some small lakes but it's a limestone area, hence not much water. However Lake Garda is not that far away so maybe a 2 centre holiday would work better?

Briancon and surrounding area ticks all those boxes I should think. I've spent many weeks there over the years doing all those activities

I've used Collets - they are not really set up for family adventure hols, but they do self catering apartments and airport pickups if you want a stress-free dolomites trip.

Corvara in the Dolomites is a fantastic base for an activity holiday. Absolutely loads to do, walking, via ferrata, climbing, superb biking on and off road.

Look at stuff in the Ainsa area of Aragon, southern Pyrenees - lots of adventure to be had there!

If you are willing to start easy and build up via Ferrara in the Dolomites would be good. Maybe start with a guide for a few days if your not quite sure. The guide also take you Rock climbing.

E bike rental every where and amazing walking. But less water sports

If you planned it yourself you'd have loads of money to spend in resort.

I was based in Cortina but the are loads good bases. The rockfax guide was very helpful.

Hi - I hope it's OK to make a shameless plug here, but what you're after sounds very much like what we do...

There are a couple of lakes within easy riding distance, the local Noguera Pallaresa river is one of the top white water activity centres in Europe, and there's a big canyoning culture here.
Hope you find a great holiday, anyway!
