"Only for Adults" is the strapline, its been on twice so far this morning on the radio.

Its divisive if you ask me 'ginger beer' reminds me of 'pop' (rank mind).

Should only be drunk with a healthy slug of rum, limes and plenty of ice.

Crabbies is excellent though, cheaper by the case! 😉

Crabbies is excellent. It's like being 10 years old, but on the lash.

Thinking about it, that's not too uncommon these days.

If I see it in a pub I'll often have a pint as a warm-up; the crabbies alco-ginge is a bit sweet, especially when compared to my home-brewed high proof ginger beer.

It's great as a starter - I prefer it to normal ginger beer actually. Couldn't drink it all night though.

Yeah, it's not really a session brew, but it is rather ace (and so are the adverts, though they're getting overplayed a bit now).

Mmm love those adverts, and tried the stuff for real yesterday... very nice!

Didn't know you could homebrew it, I might be interested in one of those kits Saladdodger!

Well the Coopers beer kits are superb so no doubt their Ginger beer offering should be up to scratch!

Although apparently it's worth adding some freshly ground ginger to the kit for that extra ginger bite 🙂

500g of powdered ginger - £4.00 or so (if you can find a good independant health food shop - otherwise it's Julian Graves = rather more money)
3kg of sugar - £3.27
200g of dried yeast - ~£1.00 (only use a teaspoonful or so per 5 gallons of beer)

=

5 gallons of VERY gingery beer @ about 4% abv!

Guess what I'm drinking now!

Weirdly, just bought a case yesterday (I must be very susceptible to ads 🙁 ). I like it! It is pretty sweet but a slice of lemon (as recommended on the back of the bottle) does cut through it a bit.

Just for the record, I really, badly dislike Crabbies by itself.
