Got a tin hole in my big agnes airbed. Plugged it with a spot of repair glue but not really happy with the repair. Tried to use a patch but always peeled off.

Is there a sticky tape that would do it? Like all those super sticky fix anything tapes you see online? Something that doesn't require glue or heat to seal.

It's got to be Flex Tape, purely for the advert 😂

I just used black gorilla tape, when I got a hole on my therm-a-rest sleeping mat. Two maybe three years later and it is still perfect.

I'd try to get your hands on the tape they use to seal air tight buildings. It's very good, used it to repair pockets on trousers, jackets all sorts of things and it stays put even having put those items through the washing machine several times.

Thread hijack - how on earth do I find the leak in my airbed? It's a big double size traditional one (not self inflating). Wasn't a cheap one either so I really want to save it as it's the comfiest one I've ever slept on.
It's got a slow leak somewhere and goes down a bit over an hour left on its own. Enough to make it impossible to use - would be on the floor at some point during the night. But not a big enough leak to hear air rushing out.
It's too big to go in the bath for air bubbles.

1. Inflate as much as you dare.

2. Keep going

3. See 2.

4. If it’s still structurally sound then carefully take a utility knife and run a slit in any direction, allowing all of the air to escape.

5. Cut it up for patches to be sold on Ebay.

6. Buy a 7.5cm or 10cm SIM, let it inflate, top up with a few lungs of air until perfect, and then sleep warmer and more comfortably.

HTH 😉

Perfect still conditions at present for diagnosis at your nearest seaside location.

I use a dab of Aquasure for airbed type punctures. Doesn't need a patch. Deflate, lay it flat, a drop of Aquasure on the hole and leave for 24 hours. It's a sealant not a glue, sticks to any fabric and forms a very tough layer.

Make up a spray bottle with washing up liquid and water. Spray on a small area. Wait for bubble to appear. Repeat until leak found
