There’s obviously an increase in air quality post lockdown, but can anyone FEEL by how much?
Cities would gain the biggest benefits I’d guess but has anyone actually noticed, as in physically breathed, cleaner air?

This website
AirQualityNews.com reckons on a massive reduction, which seems obvious, but I’m just not feeling it on my rides. Maybe it’s because I’m mostly riding amongst trees and around fields?

Edit.
Apparently, Edinburgh has saw the biggest increase in UK air quality. I’m surprised that it wasn’t London.

Living near Heathrow and the start of a motorway, we've noticed a reduction in black particulate crap falling from the skies. Which is nice.

We live near Edinburgh, (just over the bridge) and my wife hasn’t needed her inhaler in weeks.
Don’t get too excited though, it’s a temporary blip, we’ll all go back to full throttle ****ing the planet asap.

I’m feeling it in my mind, so that’s a massive benefit anyway 🙂

you don't notice when the pollution is gone because do don't really notice air quality anyway because- its  just normal. When you'll notice is when it comes back.

You didn't really notice the air had a smell and taste in the 80s - but a while back I was following a convoy of classic minis out on some sort of club jolly - so a line of 30 or so ordinary cars with no modern emission controls and catalytic convertors - you could really, really smell and taste the difference in the air and its weird how noticeable it is now that just a few cars can change the atomosphere in that way but thats what everywhere was like before, all the time, and you didn't notice because it never stopped.

I moved from Bradford last year to rural Shropshire and noticed the difference in air quality immediately.

I am not sure if I have noticed a difference since then or not. The difficulty is weather patterns have a huge impact on how clear the air looks.

Air from the south west tends to be moist warm air, so visibility is naturally reduce. Air from the east is dryer, therefore visibility increases.

Since lock down we have had really nice weather on the whole and there have been some stunning sunsets with very vibrant colours. Is that better air quality, or just that the air is less full of moisture?

The end result is that lockdown has been fantastic for the environment. Its a shame it will all go to pot afterwards.

I was hoping certainly that air travel would reduce, but everyone just seams just as keen to jump back on aircraft asap.

I had this experience recently too.

After admiring this gorgeous TR6 on my cycle home, I set off down the same road as it. After a minute I could smell this dreadful petrol / exhaust honk, the kind of thing I would normally associate with a cheap old moped or outboard motor. After another minute, I caught up with the TR6 at the next lights, and realised it was just the smell of a regular 1960s/70s car, and that's what things used to be like all the time...

I live on the most polluted street in Edinburgh.

Yes, the air is a hell of a lot nicer!

Happy trees, more pollen? Try an antihistamine.
