Aw man that's awful. I'm not great at writing anything particularly comforting, but I live in hebden bridge, not too far away, ride about three times a week, day and night both solo and with a couple of other crap riders. I sit about and drink coffee quite a bit a fair bit too. Pm me if you want to meet for a ride out and/or just some company.

Hi John. Just give me a shout on FB when you're ready for a ride on your new bike. As you know I'm retired so generally free Mon-Fri. Plenty of easy routes in our neck of the woods to choose from even the canal for starters. Take care mate see you soon.

Sorry for your loss that is truly shit.

Do you still live in North Bradford ? There was a Facebook group of local riders based where I think you live, and you do have some great riding on the doorstep to help with the healing process. I don't live around there anymore unfortunately.

Really sorry to hear this John. The Singletrack office is about an hour away from you. Wednesdays we are generally all in the office and feel free to give us a shout if you want to pop by for coffee and a quick tour. Can’t promise anyone will be available to ride but we can certainly pore over our maps and tell you where the good stuff is.

Awful news. Condolences.
I'm not near you, but it's great to see a decent bunch of stw'ers near you offering a ride/coffee/support. Take them up on this if you are able to.

John I'm glad you properly posted it up on here not hidden away on the other thread. I've said it on there but PM me anytime and I mean anytime. It will get easier & you will have bad days but after a while the good days will be the norm. You will never stop loving her but as she is not there to love you back slowly the desire to have someone else in your life will return.

All of us who have lost partners on here have had so much support from this rag tag bunch of idiots on here, it still makes me cry when I think of the help I & others have been given.

Most of all keep posting & be kind to yourself, no blame OK.

Jesus that's awful and I can't imagine how tough you're finding it just to get through the days. Words feel quite insufficient tbh; but just keep on trogging on, and (if it helps) keep posting on here - there's clearly a community of people here to share with and who will gladly share coffee/ cake/ a pint with you

Beyond awful. Just look after yourself and don't be afraid to ask for help. If you fancy a ride out into the Dales when the weather improves, drop me a line.

Sorry for your loss John. My Mrs has been battling Cancer the past 12 months.
It's frightening just how quickly your world gets turned upside down.
I've been amazed how supportive our friends and family have been, even little things help, so if i can help in any small way please pm me.
I'm in Cumbria so happy to meet up for a ride if you are nearby too.

Thank you all for the kind words, I really appreciate it, knowing what a great bunch you all are.

As FunkyDunc said, I’m north of Bradford, in West Yorkshire and I used to ride a lot more than I do now

So sorry to hear your news fella. I can’t imagine what you’re going through.

As Cougar has said, there’s a gang of us over here who’d love you to join us any time you fancy. Just grab your passport and head for the border posts on the M62 for social rides which always end at the pub

East Lancs isn’t too far from me, I’m in the north western part of West Yorkshire and I have been known to work over there, in Rossendale.

I’ve always been rubbish at going up hills, but now I have a new toy that will help, I’m aiming to get out on it soon. It’s a Trek Rail e-MTB

So sorry to hear that. Make sure you take advantage of any offers of help when you feel you need it. No offer of help on STW is ever made half-heartedly.

You're a complete stranger to most folk (myself included) on here and yet people are sending heartfelt condolences and genuine offers of help, whether that's just talking, or a bike ride, or cuddles from a spotty dog (I particularly liked that one).

I'm not sure if that helps, but in a world that can be downright crappy at times there are an awful lot of good folk out there. You're not alone. If you're ever up Edinburgh way there are plenty of us who'll happily show you some trails.

So sorry, never spoken to you but read many of your posts in the past and would happily be up for a ride if you wanted to get out. Please just post a topic if you want a coffee / ride / anything and you’ll have lots of offers.

Hi John, I'm so sorry to hear this mate. I'll add my name to the growing list of people that are here for you if you need to talk to a stranger...I've always felt we have connected over NMA, and whilst I'm all the way down in the Midlands, the internet makes the world a much smaller place.

Take care of yourself mate,
