Hi

I'll be staying at Neath Abbey from 2 April to 8 April. I plan to do lots of riding at the above. It would be great to have some company for some of the time, riding and socially. Is anyone up for that?

maybe change the title to

'girl needs company for long rides'?

more people would read it if nothing else...

Brechfa rules 🙂 Can't make it to the riding tho, at least I don't think.

When at Brechfa don't forget to try the blue/green trains ridden flat out. Great fun.

Do you want to join in with one of the Weds PM night rides? Keep an eye on MTB-Wales.com for details. We tend to stick to the natural stuff for the evening rides. Maybe something in the Upper Swansea valley, about 30 mins drive from Neath Abbey.

Make sure that you ride Penhydd, it is due for closure for a year or soon April 12th, for logging. Similarly the 'Handy Andy' and 'Grand Canyon' sections on Skyline.

I was there with two friends who I bumped into on Skyline. I was eating a plate of potatoes. Why didn't you come and say hello? Are you still in Wales?

Errrr, because my memory is shot, and I only realised where I recognised you from (Swinley ride) about 2 minutes after you had got up and left...

No, I was down in Cardiff visiting a mate over Saturday and Sunday (including a visit to Afan), I'm back home now...

What was Skyline like? I've heard it's a bit long/boring compared to the other trails at Afan. I'd just got back from a lap of Whites Level with 2 mates that practically live on their bikes, and I almost tore my legs off trying to keep up with them!

karin- Weds weather looks great. Planning to meet in Abercrave at Abercrave Inn carpark for 7:00PM. A road start to warm up and then up through the forest, hike a bike for a while:( , up to the moor, climb to the top, big views, amazing descent back through trees to excellent pub.

Is this a bike ride on a day that I'm off work?

If you want someone to ride with at Brechfa then I'll be up there a few times this week but will be going very slowly as just getting back on the bike:)

Weds- as in April 7th. I've got a fortnight off if you can't make it then.

Mboy - Skyline had a diversion, which I missed, so got a bit lost. I have ridden it before and think, and people who have ridden it recently agree, that it is long for the sake of being long, rather than because they had so much good stuff to fit in. The descent is brilliant tho!

Ambrose. Ok, will try to find you.

Hitman, do you want to do Brechfa tomorrow? Or another day? I'm here until Monday.

OK, Abercrave Inn 7pm. I have a blue 4x4 and will probably bring my Salsa if we are going to be carrying bikes.

My day has not gone according to plan and I have been out for most of it. I have to spend time with my dog, so can't make tonight. Bummer, was looking forward to it, but there you go, I have responsibilities! 😆
