I don't have accident insurance. I am never really sure wether they are worth it as you hear so much bad press.
I am taking more risks with the biking now and couldn't afford to be off work without pay. So is it worth having and can you recomend a good insurance policy to take out that actually pays out when needed.
There is so much small print on some insurances and people take them out and then when thay need them they don't pay out. ❓
Interesting question to which I do not know the answer, sorry.
However, as someone who has worked in the insurance industry I would not provide an accident insurance policy to a MTBer unless it was strictly underwritten and also you should expect to pay a high premium for such a policy IMO.
There must be some sort of insurance for people who do sport incase of an accident. I am not talking extreme mtb but what would normal cyclists have and would you not be covered on that type of policy? You hear about some really bad accidents. And what would happened if you were abroad and had an accident whilst on mtb, how would that work?
I thought it would be easy as there are so many extreme type sports now.
Nicky, i see your point car policies often cover personal injury but not bike insurance. Could you take out general 'income protection' insurance would that cover your hobbies? Try this:
Try
www.combinedinsurance.co.uk
Had it for years and always paid out for motocross and biking accidents.
Could always get a race licence

and it covers you abroad - but I'd have to say read the small print cause I ain't
Thanks for info will look into the above and see what I can find.
