I'm after some A4 plain laser paper which is 60 GSM. Originally Asda basic A4 paper was quite thin, but now they seem to have made it heavier / thicker at 80 GSM.

Anybody know of a supplier of thin plain A4 paper ? Gonna need about 10 reams of the stuff !

I've not looked at the Tesco stuff. I guess the Asda stuff was thin because it was cheap, but this suited me perfectly. God knows why they have upped the weight.

Probably because 90gsm is standard weight for white copier/printer paper. 60gsm is very thin. I run folding machines that fold letters for charities to go with raffle/lottery tickets, and we don't go below 90 because it's too flimsy. I'd also be concerned about bleed-through or show-through if the copies are duplexed.

Yes the paper is thin. Its for my thesis and i am reaching the point where the binding is going to be a problem, hence 60gsm is 25% thinner than 80. Only needs to be printed on one side and its laser print so bleed through shouldn't be a problem. If anybody knows of a supplier of A4 60gsm that would be great

A lot of paper mills have gone pop lately, also 60gsm seems to be an unpopular weight commercially so production of it may have ceased.
Have you tried Viking Direct, Staples etc? Wilko? 80gsm is a standard weight and may be all you will be able to get nowadays.
How are you looking to bind these 10 reams?

I used to work at a paper mill owned by m-real in kent making quality paper and I would say 60 grammes per square metre is very thin!

We made 80 gsm to 90 gsm and even some 100 gsm ...brands such as Viking, nice day, EP4, evolve business etc...

Is 60 gsm heavy enough to print on using a standard laser printer?
