Nice choice Stewart, though I prefer it with this paint scheme!

Theres something about the Sea Fury Chris (but the tone tone color scheme is better ;), very beautiful plane.
For function above looks I'd go for the Transavia PL-12, its still pretty awesome.

Love the Staggerwing, beautiful little aeroplane!
Sea Furies are ace, just about the most perfect development of the single engined piston engine fighter. Not for nothing are they used for desert pylon racing.

Although, if you want awesome that's truly scary in its approach to uncompromising, I present the Gee Bee R1

[img] [/img]

Just like a bumble bee, there's no logical reason for the damned thing to actually fly, other than sheer brute force!
Which leads directly to:

How do you obtain a Starfighter? Buy an acre of land and wait...

If the guy in the picture looked any cooler he'd freeze to death.

Then you've the Tupolev ANT-20 "Maxim Gorky" that looks like a 1930's American burger restaurant with wings.

[img] [/img]

Sadly, it also flew like one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_ANT-20#1935_Maxim_Gorky_crash
