[#10078515]

Let's air those guilty pleasures, those things that you love that are about as cool as your geography teacher's hush-puppies.

You can have:

1) A telly program

2) A film

3) A sport

To kick off, I thoroughly enjoy watching:

1) Antiques Roadshow

2) Carry On films

3) Bowls

and I don't care.

Challenge TV most nights around 11pm

https://flashbak.com/bullseye-contestants-who-played-a-bit-of-bully-13996/

Not a guilty pleasure though. I'll tell anyone who'll listen. Prize board is like flicking through the Argos catalogue of the era.

I find it hard to not sit and watch Notting Hill, should it appear late at night as I flick through the channels...something about Julia Roberts

Richard Osman’s House of Games. Bloody love it.

I watch that. If I'm home and it's on. Wouldn't Sky+ it though 😉

I like the Kate Humble/Chris Packham thing after too. Very educational.

Also

repeats of Jackass. Shooting Stars and the Fast Show off them other channels.

(Detectorists is so obviously hip & cool, what a silly thing to put)

Don't watch as much live but I reckon I've watched the second half of this film about 7 times

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paycheck_(film)

Normally in a hotel coming back from the pub on work trips

Sport I'll just about watch anything especially if the Olympics and Commonwealth games is on, I was starting to understand the strategy in lawn bowls last time however can't bring myself to be interested in American Football or Baseball

Blues Brothers un-hip?

I can’t turn off Storage Wars if I’m channel surfacing and come across it.

Always watch the film Twister if it’s on too. So roughly twice a week!

1. Bargain Hunt

2. Poirot (the feature length ones) or any blast-from-the-past 80s rubbish, The Last Starfighter was on the other night 🙂

3. Snooker

We're old...

Sorry -  I have no idea of what is hip or un-hip any more.

Good to have some one policing our choices though 😉

1) Car SOS, I think its wonderful. (actually, not I think about it, the embarrassing thing I REALLY enjoyed was Celebs go dating).

2) Blue Streak, a late 90s Martin Lawrence film, a bit like a cut price Bad Boys with only one Bad Boy. I've been quoting it for 19 years, which is really problematic when you seem to the the only soul on Earth who remembers it.

3) Downhill is about the only sport I watch these days, MotoGP has gone to BT and highlights are a bit crap, F1 doesn't hold my attention any more.

Nope, just that glaring inaccuracy 😛

[edit] oh that was someone else.

I bet it's not hip to watch every NZ Super Rugby game on Sky Arena. Cos I do that.

Don’t understand the need to categorise “choice ces” Just widen the Scope to include “anything you watch that others might find odd”

1) Independence Day- this is so cool, it’s almost becoming iconic. It has every facet of a decent film and I love it. If it’s on, I’ll watch it and Fifth Element too.

2) wheeler dealers, pre Ant McBootface. The American series I love becuse the cars that feature I remember as a kid.

3) Poirot, this too and again the feature length versions

4) Salvage Hunters featuring Drew Barrymore (as we call it) love this, if nothing decent on BBC4 I tune in and forget where the time goes

5) re-runs of Kim Possible and Phinius & Ferb

@bikebouy - didn't realise ID was now regarded as cool/hip. I think that shows how far out of touch with things I am 😉

Sport - I'm just waiting for someone to say synchronised swimming!

TV programme: Food vs Man, it's grotesque, but somehow compelling

Film; Crazy Stupid Love, it's a Rom Com, but it's got a great cast, it's well acted and a tight script.

Sport: Live road cycling. It's tedious beyond belief for hours at an end, it's like watching a sportive or just a group of people going for a bike ride. At the end some may put in a bit of effort and come across the line first, or may not, depends...Marvellous

TV; any Cop Interceptor program. Especially if it involves a teenage scrote from Middlesborough being bitten by a police alsatian. Try and kick that away, TJ. The speed their mate reappears from the bushes is astonishing when the handler says he's about to release the dog

(may be only one episode but I've seen it a few times, when i realise it's that one it's like drugs - I can't tear myself away)

Film; not really film but feature length TV. Any old Inspector Morse.  LEWIS!!!!!!

Sport;  pretty much anything except motor racing, but I do like a channel hop and finding something you don't normally see. Premier League Kabaddi, anyone?

TV: Gardeners’ World

You realise that every time they cut away to plants being watered  it’s really monty pissing on them. Thats the secret to his success.

for me:

taggart

I don’t think I’ve got any movie guilty pleasures but I did spent a week of so watching Singing in the Rain three or four times a day and taking notes.

for sport-  never was I happier than when channel 4 used to broadcast the international Inuit Olympics at about 5 in the morning.

TV: Shed and Buried. Complete and utter tosh. Especially engrossing when they have an all layer on the weekend.

Film: Knights Tale. Heath Ledger hamming it up.

Sport: Test Match Cricket. Compared to T20 it's like watching grey paint dry. But it can be compelling.

Death in Paradise is great. Although I think I preferred the BT guy to ardal o'hanlon, but it's still good.

Me watch this whenever they are on telly over other hip programmes ...

1. Dad's Army

2. Poirot

3. Porridge (open all hour not so but watchable)

4. Red dwarf

5. Versailles (I like costumed drama)

6. Any sc-fi ...

7. Horror channel on as background noise when nothing is on for me.

If all unavailable I would watch Youtube foreign films etc ...

😀

chewkw -I think Porridge is widely considered the best sitcom of all time - certainly is by me!

For me -  I have a soft spot for those Portillo train journey programmes - which is saying something given how much we despised him as a Tory in the 80s

olddog,

The cast for Porridge and Dad's Army are brilliant.

Make me laugh all the time and very relaxing to watch.

Very talented bunch they are.

TV; Any American car or bike customisation show, ie orange country choppers.

Film; 3000 miles to Graceland

Sport; Shame we never get the variety that Saturday afternoon sports programmes presented by men in brown burtons suits with moustache used to provide, but harking back to those days l love a bit of speedway.
