[#10969534]

After a pretty severe bout of depression and a bit of a breakdown, all documented on here, I managed to keep it together enough to embark on a Trainee Nursing Associate course last June.

I could not have even contemplated it without the support of yourselves, my family, and the wonderful people at the University of Central Lancashire.

It's been amazing, the best thing I've ever done on a professional level, I only wish I'd started 25 years ago.

This year I had another major wobble. Failed an assignment which plunged me into a spiral of self doubt and worthlessnes.
However, the support I have received has been amazing, even though as a stubborn old fart I resisted it as long as possible.

Between my wonderful wife, my amazing colleagues, you lot again and the fantastic support offered by my local GP and NHS Occupational Health I'm back on track and looking forward.

Whenever I get really fed up, I know I can rely on a bunch of idiots on a mountain biking forum to cheer me up and give me a sense of perspective.
When it's been really rough, just reading all the positive comments has given me the strength to get off my arse and get on with it.
Thanks.

Happy Christmas to each and every one of you.

Love to all,
Pete.

Terrific news, well done.

Been meds free since February, a year of ups and downs but feeling pleased to have got this far.

Happy Christmas to all those still struggling, but also to all those on here who offer such fantastic support when we need it.
