The Ritz in mcr was a favourite hunting ground on a Thursday night.

As was the conti ( v sticky carpets) , cellar 5 and my fave Corbieres.

Woke up many a time in a strange house in miles platting ( without the g of course) or lower broughton?

For the record more than 15 / less than 20

And remember them all with very fond affection ( not too sure if they do so with me)

Now Corbieres was a quality place! Best Juke Box in any bar in town, and joyously shadowy and dingy!

When you woke up in Lower Broughton, were you still in possession of your watch/wallet/kidneys? 😉

I heard those stories about the Kidneys. Were they folk-lore or real?

All that hairy chest bravado, medalion swinging, puffed out chest, shiney shoes clicking..

Pittyfull.

LOL 42s in Manchester many a night dancing on glass on the dance floor when I was back in my home town 🙂

Spent most of my late teens and 2o's in South Wales and Hereford, many a happy night taking the lucky girl from the Abergavenny Hotel (only nightclub in the town was in the basement)up to the castle for fun and games 😀

I wonder if all the high numbers stated here are actually real 😕

Edit: i.e. this is the internet and this is STW

People seem happy to disclose high numbers (I'll be the second to post one since 1988), however, a little hesitant to address how many STDs they've had. One in my case some time before 1988 which happily responded to antibiotics. The lady concerned was unaware she was carrying the thing and pleased to be informed.

Given the prevalence of Herpes I don't know how we missed that one (I assume that if we were symptomless carriers it would have been picked up in the tests when Madame was pregnant). As for AIDs, one death among friends so far.

The next question: how many separate STD doses have people had???? 😀

Does make me wonder if there are a huge number of people with answers of 0, 1 or 2 to skew the mean away from people who used to do rather better.

Yes - though of course there will be people with very high numbers skewing things the other way. That's why median would be a better measure than mean. But anyhow.

Put me down as one of the 1. As is my other half. We both met the right person first time, and we're still together many years later.

Is the partners / STD essentially a "run rate"?

In which case I am 11 for 2, not out 😛

One...

And I am hugely surprised how many other STWers admit the same - I'd have assumed that people would exaggerate or just keep quiet.

However, I'm happy with one though - I bloody love you Mrs Tarka!

Blimey! This is quite cathartic isn't it...

Jilly's, the Banshee, 42nd Street, 5th Ave, The Gallery, The Venue & The Boardwalk were all favourites for music and beer.
Rarely copped in any of them though, they were the places for good times with mates.

As above, The Conti and monday night at the Ritz when Dave Gannon DJ'd were for pulling.
And no, despite all the effort we were never particularly successfull.

Piccadilly 21 was a hellhole. Really not my kind of thing at all.
Corbieres was superb, you're right about that juke box too.

Band on the wall was the best of the lot, tbh.
And the friendliest doorstaff in the world.

Even nerdy straight girls offer it on a plate. Flame me but you have to be abit worldly naive to think a square woman isnt that interested in sex. They all are. If they say it doesnt matter to them, you dont do it for them. Move onto the next..

Thank you, Dr Ruth, thank you very much.

Oh, pics of the suit, I want to see what I should have been wearing instead of a leather bike jacket & jeans.

A mate of mine in my late teens/early 20s was legendary for his crass approach to life and ability to score despite being a fat boorish pisshead.

Reading this has brought a few smiles and the memory of his finest one liner on the subject of fat lasses.

"I recommend it. Get behind her and there's nothing like it. Give her a good rodding and there's something majestic about all that flesh. It's like watching a Spanish Galleon under full sail..."

since 1988, 1
before that, a gentleman doesn't tell

If it was before 1988 I'd be in Jimmy Saville's target/territory

So just the one before 1988 as well?

I'm 47 now. Met Mrs_d at uni. I'd been there 5 years already when I met her. Year one was a blank (well I was only 17), but years two, three, four and five were certainly interesting for a young drummer in a rock band in a university town 8)

Hmmmph........ 🙁 When i managed a bar/club in the mid 90's (i was early to mid 20's at the time) i had many more than that in one week as a kind of "male machismo" contest between the bar/DJ's and club staff (male and female i hasten to add), now i'm a tad older, wiser, not in the "club scene" so to speak, less opportunity for easy access to columbian flake and recently turned 40 i doubt i've had that many in the past 10 odd years......to be honest i don't miss the extreme hassle it used to cause on a daily basis, would rather have a decent cup of tea and a flapjack these days followed by a good book and early to bed 🙂
