Scorpions made some fine albums in the 80's, Animal Magnetism and Love at First Sting to name two of them

do Steel Panther count?!

It's fun spotting which band they are parodying in each song on their first album.

Doro Pesch / warlock

My first gig was Dio supported by Warlock at the Newport Centre! I must have been 15. Doro was certainly popular with most of the audience!

Zodiac Mind Warp are the worst band I have ever seen. And that's up against Pronghorn and a few others...

Did see Maiden, MSG, Blackfoot, Ronnie James Dio, Robert Plant, UFO, Rick Wakeman, Deborah Harry, Wishbone Ash, 10CC and a few others at the Mayflower in Southampton - well aware that these aren't all metal bands, just reminiscing...

I'll just leave this album here...

Oh and why not

Never really a Slayer fan but when they're good, they are amazing.

You can't talk about 80's metal without mentioning Shades Records in St Anne's Court. Used to get dragged there on Saturdays by my mates. Brilliant place.
