Just done my best ever time for a 5k run and am well pleased as I thought I had knackered my foot the other day !!
Any way bearing in mind Im just shy of 18 stone tonight I did it in 27 minutes!!
aiming for 25 mins before i leave here in three weeks
well happy.
anyway post your best times then !! just for comparison !
26.59
23 on a hilly 5k.
Not that fast and definitely Not at the moment though
19 minutes, 34 seconds, but I'm by no means a racing snake. Its easier when the threat of punishment is motivating you.
sorry i meant 19.33
**** me they are some serious times fellas!!
fair play to you
19:05 about 3 years ago. But I haven't been able to run since ๐ฅ
Around 23 at my best just over 12 months ago (pre patellar snappage ๐ฟ ). A lardy 25 ish now...
22:23 on an undulating course, and did a 45:00 10k race last weekend.
Not bad for an old 'un ๐
sorry,reading my watch wrong.. i meant 19.03
17.57 (when I was 19)
17:12 a few years ago.
I'm 12 and a half stone now and this year my best is 21:01.
27 minutes is pretty quick for a 18 stoner.
Good luck with the quest for a sub 25min!
I was a second quicker than tracknicko ๐
22.05 on a hilly 5k.
See here I am feeling proud of myself with that time and you lot are blowing me out of the water lol !!!
17.12? **** me.
oh no hang on, had my watch upside down (well just the nine actually)
i meant 16.03
final offer.
I did an 18:28 a few weeks ago on a flatish/downhill run.
22.38 for me
my strava says 24:47, i think i can do better than this
Top training tip - have plod chase you. Even better when they have dogs.
27:49... Er....must try harder, or alternatively, must actually try ๐
21:38 if I extrapolate from the sport-relief 3 miler time last month.
22.05 as an actual 5K.
Would love to get 19.59, but suspect that would require far more dedication tha, ooh crisps yummy!
I can do 4 miles in 31 minutes. I can't even begin to work that one out.
I did a 20min 50seconds last week but I've not been training for a month as I've been Ill. I also ran this race at 300m, I currently live in Bogota which is at 3500m so all my training is at altitude. Finally I only way 62kg so probably some weight advantage in there also.
Good time though Renton, keep working at it and the time will come down.
5k.. 3miles... 20mins.
I spent the years from age 14-19 training and racing. My best 5k time was 15:15 when I was 18, but that was not good enough to get national places in senior races, just junior.
Proper training, without faff, gps and hrm's, produces a different class of athlete altogether.
I really really miss athetics and still feel like a runner at heart but the body won't allow it any more, and with a physical job I never have the energy to do any form of training!
At 30 I could run 4 miles in 24 minutes. I guess that means 5k in about 18 minutes.
Now.....I could manage a gentle stroll.
20:05 walking, 16 and a bit running
About 20mins during a duathlon many moons ago, so add a 20k cycle and another 20min 5k after it.
Just scraped under 18 minutes which I was very happy with being 42 years old. Although I have been a runner for over 20 years and run twice a week. At my best when I was about 30 in just under 15 minutes. Although cycling has always been my stonger discipline and much prefer cycling.
31:05, my time at Heaton Park this morning. I'm counting this as my PB although in the past I have run faster.
I am actually pretty happy with that it's the first time I have done 5K in almost a year, due to several injuries which I haven't been able to shift.
Next week sub-31.
Matt
24:20 according to Strava
Currently sidelined with a stress fractured metatarsal
14:45 back in my 20s.Think that was around 4:42 pace.
Just started running again after a few years off.
www.parkrun.org is ace for those who havent heard of it, its a free weekly 5km around the country with timing and very friendly volunteers running it all. my best is 22.11 or thereabouts at ashton court, the course has 100m height gain in the first 2.5km which is really hard work (though its all down hill on the way down!!)
sheffield parkrun 20:20
(i can beat that)
parkrun is ace.
You're right Park Run is ace but I can't beat that (20.20)
Jesus - have you seen what the world record is ??!!
(was just having a look to see how far I could push tracknicko ๐ )
Bolton parkrun t'other week - 19.31. quite happy wi' that as it's not flat and I am owd.
eh up and down course on road and pavements on a good day 23.30 on a bad day 26.45....dont run that much though as only if im short on time and cant fit a bike ride in
I would say anything approching 25m is great as lets face it how many folk out there could actually run a 5km you would be surprised how few
18.30 ish on the Rhayder course (so not that fast a course) but that was many years ago.
Some great efforts here.
I've never done a 5k but did 17:41 to the halfway marker in a 10k. I was trying for negative split but faded a bit for a 17:49 second half.
just had a quick go after a few side bends and some burbees as a warm up.
down to 15.14
had it on strava but for some reason the ap crashed. ah well.
24.50 as part of a sprint triathlon, so a 700m swim and 20k on the bike beforehand. Hoping to get it down a minute or two this year!
I only started running about a month ago as I've entered a sprint tri and thought I best get some practice in...
I'd been sat at the 25min to 26min mark but managed to do a 23m26s the week before last which I'm very pleased with ๐
5k = 20.50
10k = 42.25
