India are being destroyed. It's no longer a contest.

We'll win this series 4-0.

to tell you the truth I am disappointed - its not a good contest.

I wanted to see something like the 2005 ashes - which is probably the best series for a long time. Instead its a disappointing capitulation from India.

Oh, FFS! I agree with TJ! ๐Ÿ˜‰

India look very lacklustre, 'tis true. Which is a shame.

But then, you can only beat the team you're playing, and we're certainly doing that!

I agree TJ. Wanted a decent series not a procession.

We need to declare over night, get them in and skittle them all out by tea tomorrow

Good morning everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

What will today bring. Give the forecast for rain tonight and overcast all day tomoz (on the beeb anyway), I reckon we'll bat all day and declare either overnight or with an hour's play left today.

3-0 by tea tomorrow!

I think a declaration may come sooner than that if the runs keep flowing at the rate they were yesterday.

The way India are playing I think we would still skittle them if it was perfect batting conditions.

I'm 12 miles to the west of Edgbaston where the weather is coming from. Shall post up any reports of rain. Stopped now, brightening up, play to begin in 10 mins

I'd have been there yesterday or today if I'd thought there was any chance of getting in.

So when do we start swinging? We could get 700 here today dead easy then slowly and mercilessly pick them apart over the next two days*

*Well, two or three hours ๐Ÿ™‚

Lots of talk on Sky of Cook going for Gooch's 333.

I'd like to see England start going at it reckless now to shove some quick runs on, then put India in again. Longer they have to bat the less the chance of them holding on for a draw.
edit: especially given changeable weather.

(caveat: I know next to nothing about Test cricket)

especially given changeable weather

That is the worry - anything could happen with the weather although it is looking better for tomorrow and especially Sunday at the moment - get that ball skipping down the dry track rather than being held up...

Calm down people, this is a 5 day test lest we forget! Ok we've gone off for bad weather at the moment, but set not to last long. India struggle to bat for a day, let alone 2 and a bit! I'd like to see us go past 700, and set India 500 just to make us even have to bat again. They'll be so tired from having fielded for something like 200 overs, they won't be able to bat at all, and Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan will be banging in having had 2 days sat doing nothing! And it's swinging... And they're all 10mph faster than the Indian bowlers...

England should just bat right through today and totally demoralise India, then probably declare overnight.
