Tidy start! All quiet from my Indian colleague in the office at the moment....! Am refraining from commenting or gloating. Don't want her to think I'm an Australian. ๐Ÿ˜‰

England are pretty good now but I don't think India have really performed so far.

You can only beat the side in front of you. We are no.1 now, no question,

Only time will tell, but right now they are. IMO you have to consistently beat the better sides and that means winning away in place like the WI, Oz, SA and the sub-continent. Winning at home is one thing - repeating it on a 2-4 month tour is something else.

We did win the ashes recently?

But that was one series (against a distinctly average side) after previously being white-washed over there.

How well have we performed against the other 'big' nations on the own patch? Not so well.

IMO what sets England apart at the moment is their ability to step up to the plate when it matters. They win a lot of sessions; grab wickets, gets runs, apply pressure, take catches, occupy the crease, out-think the opposition captain, etc.

And they've been doing this a lot for 2 years or so having lost the plot after winning the Ashes in 05.

Getting silly now. All out for 150 and us past that by stumps with 7 or 8 in hand.

Steady start to the morning. Would like to see the openers pile on a few, centuries apiece perhaps.
