My Dad (70...) is looking to change his car as he's just finished paying off his last one - Astra Estate. Went with him for a test drive in the new Duster today - not a bad car at all for the cost I don't think. Didn't feel as tiny or badly bolted together as the previous version - boot and legroom appear bigger to this time around. The interior whilst basic and plastic actually doesn't do too bad either - you can see the Renault influence more on this now. Also impressed with the sound proofing and ride quality considering that the suspension design appears quite agricultural to others. Dad like it to and after a bit of haggling over spec and trade in he's ordered the 4wd Prestige with all round cameras, parking sensors and a few other bits and should hopefully be getting it by the end of the month. Not bad for around £16k all in when compared to the 12 month old Suzuki Vitara on the forecourt for £17.5k!

Just caught up on the thread ( been working ) ..
Just to put to bed a comment made by trail rat ..yes the corner in question has a certain notoriety for accidents ..however the driver in question takes caution to the extreme and certainly wouldn't have been hoofing it ..the blame was apportioned to the vehicle..which is why I couldn't understand why they got another

The pick up version looks smart, they seem quite popular here is Chile, but are badged as Renault.

There doesn't seem to a the demand for small pick ups in the UK, but over here there are ones based on Fiat Puntos, VW Polos and even Vauxhall Corsas
