Look at the position of the exhaust and then ask yourself that question again!

Not sure but think maybe not, centre exhaust and all. Had a Golf R and it was a no on that.

Even the older STs are a no too due the exhaust manifold.

Not certain if it applies to the ST but certain hot versions of hatches are not tow-bar homologated.

Years ago I had a mate with a "bread-van" Civic Type-R and IIRC he told me it was a no-no on that despite the normal exhaust to the side setup. Something to do with load ratings for gearbox/clutch I think.

I could imagine similar issues with others.

Also my understanding is that if it isn't homologated then it isn't road legal/insured.

Going by the image a tow bar can be fitted.
Is there a towing capacity in the log book for the ST model?
I had this issue with my Fabia VRS TDI, it wasn't rated for towing so the fitting company wouldn't fit a tow bar.
However, my insurance company agreed to cover a tow bar being fitted as a 'cycle carrier attachment' that would never be used for towing.
Went back to the fitting company with this info and they were more than happy to fit and invoice the tow bar as a 'cycle carrier attachment'.
