Ireland lacked intensity at the start and chasing the game against a team with a lot of tries in them would always be tough. A lot of people seem surprised by Argentina but they've been playing cracking rugby for a while now. That said, Argentina looked like cracking at one point so fair play to them for finishing off the game in the manner they did by the end. Some of the handling from the forwards was exceptional. You can see the Championship all over the way they play
Jeez tough crowd.
I'll remove it if it causes offence.
So now the NH is relying on us Scots to preserve our joint honour.
Oh dear.
I'm no offendotron, but I've always thought the way arg supporters have kept decency to be one of the highlights of the rise of the Pumas. Seems a shame not to respect that
Don't agree the Northern Hemisphere rugby needs a rethink, Wales came close even though riven with injury. Ireland haven't maybe got the strength in depth they thought they had. Argentina played the best I have ever seen them
Maybe you didn't see Argentina beating the Boks in SA? Wales came close and were incredibly brave but SA are still a very limited team and came bottom of the RC.
It was depressing to see the NH's standard bearers get outplayed from 1 to 15. Did they not think it neccessary to defend the outside channels? I don't think the missing big names would've changed the result. Argentina played with a level of ambition Ireland could never match.
How do Wales get an invite to the championship? ๐
[quote=Pigface ]It's all down to Scotland now

Wales came close
...
england are a shambles behind the scenes but have plenty of able players.France are in a real mess
What's new?

Not quite sure about that peteimpreza, but giving them a 17 point start inside 15 minutes was a disaster - BOD has just said it, anytime Argentina came back into it, the defence was poor and perhaps that was when we missed POC, POM and SOB most.

True but Ireland didn't seem able to defend the Pumas' backs when they got out wide. Argentina seemed to barely kick out of hand but preferred to throw it around even when they got themselves into trouble.
Amazing really when you consider how they used to rely 100% on forward power. I think Graham Henry has possibly had a hand in that.
I think it is more that now Argentina have something decent to play for each year they have managed to keep their superstars together rather than have them come and go in favour of mostly Euro commitments and not really know what side they'd cobble together each week. Having a decent 10 finally is a huge help too despite the lack of a strong kicking game in any of the backs still. I also think the Irish team was still a very strong one despite the Irish in the pundits being down on the injuries

Good points but they had Hernandez at FH in 2007 when we was exceptional and now they have him at centre - where he's still pretty handy - so they do have kicking options but they choose not to kick the ball away to the opposition unnecessarily.
(NH teams - are you listening?)
The SH are miles ahead. The best team in the 6N (by some distance - 2 6N in a row) just lost to the 3rd best in the rugby championship and not by a little bit either. RWC semis completely SH teams? The gap is getting bigger it seems.

Not just Argentinian supporters, but all of rugby. Poor form, Drac.
Argentina played some blisteringly good rugby today. Almost always getting through the first tackle, driving low to avoid the choke. They knew their tactics and played them well. Ireland put up a brave fight, but the better team won.
Imhoff and Senatore were excellent.
WTF!
YEESS
I understand they're excited, but should there be a pitch invasion while the ball is still in play?
Agreed, aracer, don't like subs on the pitch.
What a strong start from Scotland! This wasn't in the script!
Don't worry northern hemisphere, we got this.
OK, maybe we don't got this.

POSTED 1 HOUR AGO # REPORT-POST
Not offensive, just worthy of some tabloid football headline bollocks
Can we just stop now please before the Aussies wake up?
Cant see scotland beating aus in a high tempo running game. Great fun so far though
The thing that I'm loving is that people on both sides are playing with a smile on their face. It's great to see.
Tough decision
Joubert ****s scotland the ****
Thats the ref screwed that game then.
Harsh.
Utter bollocks.
Is attempting to intercept going to disappear, when decisions are made like that?
What is this ref doing in this game?
He's making harsh decisions against the Scots and it keeps leading to Aussie tries
And why didn't the tmo look at the 'deliberate' knock on in real time speed because slow-mo always makes it looks worse
That's an exceptional bad call for a world cup quarter final referee.
Harsh decision.
Also think the para picture should be removed - no place for that in rugby.
I think the TMO needs to carry much of the blame for that. Joubert is not going to disagree with him over the mic and the TMO initiated the inquiry
Lovely to see all the random shirts in the crowds. Ancient Leicester one in the background just now.
Rubbish decision by the TMO
Steady now lads respect the ref eh 8)

Nah, Joubert has a long way to go before he stops being a ****!
A clear penalty against Australia at the scrum. Joubert is poor.
Scotland need a score soon to stay in it.
Wow
Omg
Wow.
