That's rather good.
Solid advice, lovely pictures, nice listing of some starter places to ride.
👍
Agreed, good to see the recommended kit list is generic parts rather than named expensive bits.
Would have been nice to see them work with an independent Scottish company. Maybe none were interested?
Re generic part lists - hardly a surprise as that’s precisely what Decathlon stock, so that’s what they’ll recommend.
Agreed, but it also helps get people in as the initial costs can be reduced due to the range of kit on offer rather than a sponsorship recommending the flagship kit that costs way more than other things.

Nah, partnering with Decathlon makes perfect sense. Most folks just starting out in mountain biking aren't going to be ordering a load of Findra clothing or a custom Shand. And DMBinS are already involved in initiatives that support independent Scottish companies, like this industry showcase at their last conference. https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/10-neat-mountain-bike-products-that-are-straight-outta-scotland/
The vast majority of independent retailers pitch themselves at mass market, not Gucci stuff.
