Ok I have created a meet-up. Greater London flat at 14.00. I have invited about 17 who follow me. If anyone else wants a invite follow me on Zwift as I can’t invite you otherwise. Robbo1234biking [STW] is my username.

Sorry Robbo, I can't zwift on afternoons due to work.

I've accepted for Saturday so see you then.

No can do today unfortunately, I've got to fit a scheduled training ride in before it expires.

I'm working unforunately, so no can do. I just had a look at the invite though & took it to be a run.
Have I misunderstood it, or has it been set-up as a run, rather than a ride?

It initially said robbo has invited you to a run, and the little symbol shows a runner, rather than a bike. But, I am not sure I have ever paid enough attention to know what it would normally show.

Always room at the back, we’re not all dumping out those watts!

*waves*

"See" you Saturday.

In hindsight, I should have kept my mouth shut! That would have been funny - hey guys, where are our bikes?! :o)

Doubt I'll get away with a 10.30 start on Saturday but hopefully catch you for a flat route next time and I can try keeping in the group better.

Sorry Robbo, I'm working too. Hoping to make the full 90 mins on Saturday though 😀

Sounds like I dodged a bullet last night 🙂

2pm got calls all day sadly.

Saturday I’ll be on.

Cheers for continued organisation Steve/all. I really look forward to these.

I really look forward to these.

Me too. I'm finding I'm able to hold a much higher speed for longer periods riding with the group, so it's definitely helping me.

Cheers @Robbo1234biking
Clearly 2pm ain't the most popular time for a ride! 🙂
35.32km
Power avg 195W max 937W
Calories:670
Earnt myself a slice of cake I reckon.

I averaged 198w and 983w max so pretty close figures. Cheers for the ride. That course is pretty difficult to maintain a consistent pace as it is up and down so your power varies from 100w to 300w! Kudos to weeksy for maintaining a decent pace on the other rides.

Not that popular but I was going to do a ride anyway. All these people actually working!

Technical question: I have a PC laptop with Android OS on it (X86) but Zwift won't work (Google Play says it isn't compatible). Does anyone know of a workaround?

I was going to do the ride at 2pm today but had to work!!!! ****ing hell, whats work? I even have to go to school in the Easter holiday apparently. Just tried out Road Grand Tours...got to say I prefer it. Less hectic, less gamey without tron bikes etc. Nice little scrolling line showing w/kg changes and it doesnt take 240 000mins to load up on my laptop!

I'll be doing my usual Friday afternoon ride if anyone fancies it, really laid back ease into the weekend's riding.

The only real issue I had with RGT was the lack of routes. There's a few real climbs but not much in the way of rolling terrain. I think the zwift, watopia approach is better where you can set off on a loop and navigate on the fly if you fancy a climb etc.

Only 17 signed up for tomorrow which considering none of us are going anywhere at the weekend does slightly surprise me. But will be a decent ride and distance i think.

Would need to clear it with the missus, but should be OK for this.

But - I didn't get an invite.... :o(

Weeksy - I am riding with my cycling club tomorrow morning instead.

Having said that....if I drink too much red wine tonight and miss the start I'll join the STW ride!!

I'm also waiting to see how I feel tomorrow, might go for an outside ride instead. Although a Zwift in the morning and an outdoor one in the afternoon might work.

Don't tempt me, i'm just back from being out on the G-160 and another G-160 ride is exceptionally tempting 🙂

What’s the plan for the 90 minutes in terms of wattage etc?

I'm thinking the usual format, 175w for 30, then 200 or so for next 30, 225-250 for 60-75 mins, then unleash.

All depends how a rider hides and drafts of course.

I will try! FTP is 253 so first hour will be ok and then see what happens in the last 30

Don't forget, you can lower that figure if sitting in the group, if there's a decent group that forms of course

Going to give zwift a go next week I think.

I did the stelvio on RGT this morning, trying to keep up with a couple of guys off the Facebook group and it was the hardest thing I’ve done on my bike in years

Too me about 1hr20 for the climb, on 100% slope. My knees are still feeling it now nearly 12 hours later.

Out door ride for me tomoz; my Boris recommended one-a-day.

As for meetups next week; I am on 8-8 hours Mon/Wed/Fri until this corvid situation ends. So only Tuesday and Thursday evenings available for Zwift.

I'm game for that, but not sure how I'll cope. I will have to stay in the group because I did a hard hour (just under) yesterday and only averaged 184w, I think.

Yeah, don't think I'll be able to managed that power, will give it a go but expect to drop off fairly quickly. Let's see

Cheers gents... If the pace is too hit, please hit M and type a message and we'll ease off a bit. Speak up and we'll help you out both with a tow back in and also with the overall pace.

It ain't a race, it ain't a training event, it's a bunch of zwift mates riding together 🙂
