Yes - they work fine with tubes - that's how I run mine. I got hope hoops and the rims were supplied with velox tape which is quite thick. It is not the best stuff to use in those rime because the central channel is narrow. So use some cheaper rim tape or the narrow yellow tape from stans that fits into the central channel and it will make life a bit easier.

Anyway - fine with or without tubes...

STS.

£350 sounds a bit much - is that for hope hoops? This place does em for £250, not sure what they are like though.

btw if they are anything like the Stan's Flows I've got, you really should try running them tubeless - very easy, even with non-tubeless tyres.

I got my hope hoops on ZTR 355 for £250 (discount at local bike shop). I guess you must be having some custom ones done instead to be paying that price - i.e. better hubs and spokes?

just check these places have stock of em and aint just advertising em..... winstanleys a bit like dx lighting have a reputation of a bit of a wait before you get em ....

ie you order from them - they then order from hope ....on a good day...

oh and dont be surprised when they are not 1483 as advertised (as an owner of the wheeels in question) they are more like 1600 inc rotors despite them saying 1483 inc rotors

Great service from Wheelpro, but they'll cost you more. My Pro3-SP6 on 355s have been excellent.

Mine came from Winstanley, not boxed properly, bit scuffed on the rims and without spare spokes etc.

Emailed to complain but they never got back to me... nice.

That's true, they did come next day. In fact I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a new rear hope hoop for my hubby from them and same thing happened again - packaged really badly and scuffed... not a happy bunny!

Think the winstanley ones are the standard proIIs for £225 aren't they not the pro 3 spc hub which is more expensive?

I got some hope hoops from them a year or so back with no problems at all

heihei, they've got very low profile rim walls, and they're painted. you probably could, but you'd have to bodge a bit and it wouldn't work very well.

heihei, yep, that's what the 355's are designed for so you wouldn't have to bodge it and would work fine as they have a proper rim brake surface. The disc only version is the olympic. As ned says though the whole rim is painted so it might not look the best as it wears.

according to this http://www.justridingalong.com/shop.php?pid=481&product=42&jras=gtf6rv some have a maching braking surface and some don't, although it says all can be run with v-brakes.
