[#2305496]

morning all, anybody got a 36 on a zesty and how does it ride?

the floats can be knocked down in 10mm increments i believe so it could be set to 150 or even 140 if necessary.

Yeah mate, I tried mine with a 36 Talas for quite a while.

I thought it was too long for anything except very steep stuff on 160mm.

And 130mm setting was alright for normal riding, but not quite as good as the 150mm fork I usually have on there (set at 145mm on the U-turn).

Reducing the travel on the 36 by 20mm might be a good move.

cheers i thought as much, im not really after the extra travel, just the 20mm axle and stiffiness anyways.

actually, chakapig, don't suppose you've swapped off any of the lapierre branded parts have you?

wondering if you weighed them?

cheers

yes I took them off but not weighed them

stem and bars were light-ish, on par with say Easton ea50 or RF Evolve

seatpost bit heavier than average, good quality though - never budged when on

I don't think i'd run a 36 on the front of mine, far too much unnecessary bulk.

I'm running a set of 150mm Revelation Teams on mine & it feels just about bang on ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep, some 160 Devilles, they replaced the 150mm 32's I had which in turn had replaced the original 140's. Yes up steep climbs its a bit worse especially as I only have a float R so cant prop the rear up but I still cope and get up most stuff, 50mm stem as well but thats been on there a long time. The minor extra weight is worth it for the reduction in twang compared to flexy fox 32's (not tried recent revs so cant compare but I know some ancient 20mm Pikes I have are far less flexy than 32's)

thanks dlr, currently using some ancient 20mm pikes too and not too willing to go for a 32 with 15mm, but willing to be proved wrong on a test ride. i weigh about 17 stone in riding gear so it's going to be obvious i think, my old qr floats were everso bendy

I'd go with Revelations meself, not as stiff as a 36 obviously but not what I'd call flexy either, and stiffer than the 150mm 32 as long as you get the maxle one. Great bits of kit.

I'd go with reducing by 30mm, to get it the same height as a Fox 32 140mm QR15
