Do you ave experience of riding in Zante - either on MTB or road. My serach on the Web has come up with very little. I need to know so I can keep myself sane on a 2 week family holiday there this June.
Should I take a road bike or mountain bike with me?
Can I hiring a bike out there an option - who with?
i was in zante last year on hols mate.
1. no idea on MTB sorry
2. there were quite a few road bikers out and as the island is small u cant really get lost, though as its greece it gets so warm and muggy you would have to ride early doors IMO or late evening.
3. and as with a lot of places they drive like nutters.
I didnt see anywhere to hire bikes but i really wasnt looking. You might have to take your own and as im not sure who you are flying with i really cant advise.

I was there 18 months ago & went on a jeep safari-type trip.
I asked the Scots bloke running it if anyone did mtb tours etc round the island as it would be an ideal place to ride - if a small island.
It appears no-one runs tours & that pretty much all the island is private land - olive groves etc. - therefore you would have one hell of a job finding the owners of the land let alone getting permission to ride on it. Greeks tend to take ideas like trespass rather seriously!
I did see quite a few tourists on hire bikes though, proper clunkers they were.
