You can never go far wrong with salt beef/pastrami, pickles, mayo and mustard (american style); sometimes a few leaves on top too.

Not exactly a sandwich, but a mate of mine loves taking Weetabix and spreading with butter and jam; eats it just like that! Beyond weird if you ask me.

Pale unsalted butter, good quality ham, thinly sliced gruyere cheese and mustard, in a crispy baguette.

AM - Slightly crispy bacon, with a fried egg (runny yolk, cooked white) in betweentwo lumps of crusty home made white bread. Smattering of mustard, Colemans of course.

PM - Artichoke hearts, Wiltshire ham, houmous, sliced tomato, black pepper between two slices of crusty, home made mixed grain bread.

Late PM after many beers - Chicken 'bab. Chilliandgarlicsossboss, no salad.

Depends on the situation. If it's an outdoors, lunch-break sandwich, then the only correct filling is peanut butter and honey.

Bacon and fried egg in granary. Either brown or tomato sauce depending on what's available.

BTW, as weird as it sounds, marmite and peanut butter on toast rocks too.

I like CFH's ruling, it's time dependent:

breakfast = bacon and fried egg bap with mayo
lunch = ham on granary with lettuce, cucumber and tomato with mayo
tea = fish fingers on a big bap with cheese, cucumber, fried egg with mayo

you can't have a sandwich without mayo

Either:

Streaky Bacon, Peanut Butter & Apricot Conserve on toasted, buttered Baguette (this is the sandwich that killed Elvis)

or

Ham, Brie, Onion, Mustard & Mayo in a Croissant

Avocado and bacon. Avo needs to be mushy-ripe, bacon really crispy, mayo, black pepper, served on a white sub. Lush.
