This ^^ focus on riding smoothly and flowing, less on going fast
we concentrated on this during a skills course. The instructor told us to lay of the brakes coming out of the last corner and seeing how far we rolled to guage exit speed/ momentum
After smoothing everything out and feeling less ragged, there was a significant increase in exit speed/ momentum exiting the last corner that was evident in how far you rolled. When I got it right there wa less brakes/ more flow and it felt ace!

Oh and cure the upgradeitis.
I have wasted a lot of money trading up bikes thinking it would make me better. It doesnt. It makes you poorer
