.......... you fit a new set of wheels & cassette and drop over 600g's of spinny rotating mass from your XC HT, that's me that is.

Off came the Mavic XC421's laced to SLX boost hubs, a SLX 11-42 cassette and SLX center-loc rotors and on went a set of KTM Prime CC wheels, essentially re-badged DT Swiss XR1501's with SLX 6 bolt rotors and a GX 10-42 cassette.

Same tyres (Vittoria Barzo / Mezcal), the bike feels like a different animal! It was pretty light at 10.4kg with pedals & cage before, it's now silly light (in my world) at just under 9.8kg, not bad for a large 29er HT

I saved over 2.5kg by changing a fat bike wheelset.

Definitely noticeable 🙂

I weighed my 29er the other day, it's 15.2kg 😳 And it's rigid.

How heavy are you? I reckon I could make that handle like a spastic Bambi just by looking at it!

Same, by putting 29er wheels in. That said, I’m currently in he process of losing 1.5kg by simply going tubeless on the fat ones...

It's a KTM Myroon Elite boost, with fox 32 SC forks

How heavy are you?

Ignore the last number, weighed myself for the first time in ages and I'm another kilo lighter, so 77kg all up.

I saved 1.5kg switching from 3C DD Minions with tubes to tubeless exos the other day. Bike is now a svelte 46lb 😉

I'm just in the process of building the lightest wheels I've ever owned. They're also, by some way, the most puny wheels I've ever owned. This could be interesting!
