Thinking of spending a week in the dales. Hit me with where's good to stay with easy access to the best trails.

Thanks

Reeth. Dales Bike Centre can tell you where to ride as well.

Depends what you want. Dales Bike Centre (them again!) has a bunk house. Plenty of cottages to rent round that way as well.

There are loads of good routes around the upper Wharfedale area too, and its a slog to Reeth.. can't recommend anywhere to stay as its fairly local to me but there are loads of bunk barns etc between Kilnsey and Kettlewell.

Yup. Stu will do guiding too if you want.

Good cakes too and the bike centre. Very good cakes!

+1 for Reeth. At least a couple of good day's riding there, then you can head out south to ride from somewhere like Buckden or from Ribblehead.

Echoing what Martin says: you are probably better off looking at a two centre stop, one for the north Dales so DBC is the obvious choice there and one for the southern and western stuff, somewhere like Settle or Horton.

There is a hostel in Ingleton that's had a big refurb. Bike friendly too (owner also owns the local bike shop).

I've stayed here before.

Good pub over the road, but sod all else.

Stayed at the YHA in Reeth also, but I'd look at The Dales Bike Centre.

Reeth looks popular. I'm quite a fan of pately bridge. Not certain of accommodation as use a family members static but the area is certainly worth considering.

Dales Bike Centre for Swaledale and the north!
