Suddenly singlespeed looks like the sensible option.

£166 for a ****ing chainring - how much to make one of those....

It's getting to the point when XTR is just for the sponsored riders.

A few years ago I was into upgrading when parts wore out, now I look for stuff that's going to last. £160 chainring will not make for a better ride but does represent a lot of petrol/food/oil etc.

The racers need the edge from Ti/Carbon composite but stick it on my bike and it would be like putting alloy wheels on a chaved up Nova.
