I really liked my ASR (it was my first full-suspension bike), though I weigh in at 90kg fully loaded and I did find myself bottoming it out quite a bit (it's only 4" or so of travel after all!!). I'm not really a jey boy XC type rider, so I now have an Enduro S-works that suits me much better! Here's a pic of it for your delectation (though not the greatest pic 🙄 )

My ASR frame is up for grabs if you're keen btw (see my ad in the classieds) Now happy to split the frame and forks if you're interested 🙂

I ordered one a week or so ago after a test ride with Stu from evolution. It's a cracking bike - feels very solid and more 'in tune' with the trail compared to longer travel bikes. I've ridden a hardtail for > 20 years and it feels very similar but with some of the eyeball out moments dampened.

I'm getting the team colours with the basic Enduro build kit as it's the best value at the moment as it has the same forks and saves a lot of time and hassle speccing up all the parts and getting them all in.

The kit is arriving in a week or so and there were 2 team colour frames in medium left.

I'm going to watch it being built up so will have pics for those sad people like myself who are interested.

What size frame do people ride? Say for 5ft 11/6ft rider?

I'm 5 foot 10, 10.5 stones and ride a Medium.

Spec is Reba Team with XT gearing, XTR calipers, Thomson stem and seatpost with EA70 Monkeylite bars.
Wheels are Hope Pro III SP front, Pro II rear on DT 4.2 rims.

I believe it weighs around 25lbs.

I was running it quite stiff, but have just softened it out with a bit of play with the fork and shock pressures.

Im 6ft4 and 85-90kg? i think anyway. You do get a little flex, but its not really that noticable, swapped from a pace fork to the fox and it got rid of 99% of what i thought was the frame. I do get a hell of a lot more flex from my new light wheels tho.

Im running mine pretty soft front and rear as i dont see the point in only keeping suspension for hard hits as you still feel them anyway, much better to have constant plush (non-bobbing) travel with the occasional bottom out (not that i can tell other than looking at the shock stantions).

Went out on it this morning and it rips downhill, up is good too but im not really in shape to tell at the moment. I always forget how good it is if ive not ridden it for a while, then i get out on it and i remember :0)

Just been washed, seat is down more than normal as i put it down for the long-fast descent i did this morning.

I currently have a trek ex8 which i love but i am trying to get into doing a few more enduro events and the ex is just too heavy so if i can loose a few pound hopefully loose a bit of time as well. I like the idea of having a bike which is superlight and fast enought to race but can still rip round trails.

Here is mine
[IMG] [/IMG]
Full XTR
Crossmax SLR's
Magura martas
etc....
I'm 5ft 11 and ride a medium frame.Had it a year and love it.
I've used it on everything from smooth trails to fast rocky descents and it's coped with it all.

Not very hard or expensive to build up around 23/24 pd.I doubt whether there would b a better race rig around at the mo and the great thing about this bike is its ability to handle technical riding with ease.Built with a 100m fork the bike has a 69 degree head angle which really helps in the handling.

Depends what you mean by expensive i guess considering my current bike cost me £1300 and for the ASr Frame i am looking at £1600 new its quite a jump up. Just going to have to bite the bullet i guess.

righty - was it a recent version? mine is an early one with really thin braces for the linkage, had a look at the newer ones at a demo-day and they'd beefed that area up a lot for stiffness (not that id had a problem with it)

Pricey, mine's a medium and I'm 5 11. It cost a shade over 3k to build up and comes in at 23lbs 4oz.
Its done nearly 3000 miles in 18 months with my 14stones sitting on it and no problems so far!

Cheers for that. Not too cheap then. Hopefully getting a job in a bike shop this summer so that should help. Thats a pretty light bike mind cannot wait to test ride one.
