So need some new cranks and toying with the idea of xx1 but building up to it slowly!

Will xx1 cranks work with a 10 speed rear cassette?

Also with a type 2 clutch will I need to run a bash guard?

Cheers in advance

Yep XX1 with 10 speed is no problem. Ran one with Type 2 mech for a while with no issues.

As pointed out above, no need for a chain device with the XX1 chainring, HOWEVER, given the price of the chainrings (£70+) I would recommend a bash guard!

I fitted a chain device to mine purely for the bashguard and because I had a one already, but one of these would be the job if you haven't bought one already.
