Did the advert say "100" miles, like in a sarcastic "not really" kind of way?

I see 5 quite heavily burred gears there......but over all doesnt look super worn.

Also 100muddy mtb miles could easy put a cassette and chain beyond "reuse" with another chain.

Reality , your chain will probably wear to mesh in with it over time.

Would i put up with it - no.

From the look of that, it does appear that the previous owner favoured the smaller sprockets. You've got to ask yourself why they were selling it.

Looks quite worn to me.

It may well have had 100 miles on it; I've killed one of those and the rest of a brand new transmission in a 50 mile wet Gorrick race before now.

Looks like it was used with a worn chain. Wear is at the top of the teeth rather, and the base of the teeth look untouched.

You changed the cassette and didn't remove the dork disk at the same time? You and your ropey 'new' cassette deserve each other ๐Ÿ™‚

Based on your experience so far, I reckon running a new chain on that cassette would destroy the chain.
