As per the title..

No other XTR [yet] on my T130, but an part-drivetrain upgrade is due and with only a £40ish price difference, is there a tangible improvement in mechanical sweetness?

for 9 and 10spd there was an improvement, for me.

But on 11 I can't tell any difference.

I agree on the XTR benefit on 9/10sp. Inherited some great S/H bikes with it fitted.

On 11sp the XTs levers are a nice textured metal, which makes it feel pretty snappy and 'premium' already. Thought some fancier internal material might up the ante.

The £40 might be better spent on beer

Back to back the 11s XTR definitely feels nicer than the XT, just feels a little bit more crisp to me.

I'd get the XTR because it's lighter and I'm a tart.

9 speed, I'd say it's worth but I'm not overly fussed about the 11 speed. I have snagged and broken the carbon lever. I think the alu XT would have survived.

Next bike I build will be XT. I also think the whole clutch thing makes it less of a difference as well.
