Hi all
really basic questions about which chain and XTR front mech to buy for my new double XTR crankset which I want to run 9 speed;
Can I run a new dura-ace/xtr chain on 9 speed?
I want to use a top swing front mech; I can use this front mech, correct? M970 . . .

9sp DA and XTR are the same chain and will be fine.
Don't know about the mech

If you're buying a new mech, why not just buy an M980 one?

The M970 will work though.

njee to my rescue once again! Guess I thought as I needed M970 9 speed shifters I should stick with 970 front mech? I'll go with the M980 one though if that's not true.
