xtr bottom bracket busted after a few mounts have a hope on kicking around, will it fit or is the xtr different than other shimano one?

all shimano are interchangeable so should be fine.

XTR crank in a Hope BB is just fine.

Yup. But, if the XTR one only lasted a few months, unless you're riding constantly I'd be wondering why, they're pretty durable.
