The chap selling this bike didn't get any bids, so I emailed him and said I'll take it off his hands for £500. Does that seem a bargain to you? Its all XTR apparently. I'll be selling on the bike and the forks as they will be too small for me, but all the bits (at least the ones that fit (wheels, brakes, gears, crankset, cassette etc) will be moved onto my 2004 Santa Cruz Blur.

Does this seem ok to you? XTR should be pretty good shouldn't it? It seems a cheaper way than buying componants a bit at a time. I would never dream of buying XTR normally as its far too high end for me. Ordinarily I'd be happy with XT.

It is older XTR that you could find used for a lot less than this.

The frame should sell well as should the forks but it seems like you will have to some work for very little return.

be aware that the brake/shifters are combined and are 'flippy' shifters - you move the brake lever to chaneg gear.

Have a look on CRC etc for M960 XTR prices - they're pretty low for brakes and replacement chainrings etc are fairly high.

My view: you could probably get the equivalent SLX kit new from Merlin for less and it will perform as well and be 10 speed and have separate brake levers and traditional shifters.
