Got an old XTR M970 chainset and the BB gone, what can I replace it with?

Any equivalent Shimano compatible BB- it's just a normal BB basically so tons of choice. Depends on your frame too, though!

Thanks, I wondered whether any of the shimano ones will work. Because it has a preload lock ring & a different crank arm bolt to the more common Hollow Tech II's

The BB is the same, it's just the crank fitment process that's different.

Nice one so xt, 105 etc will work? lol which one to choose...

Any Shimano mtb one, not road as the cups are slightly different.

XT is fine. Better sealed than Deore. Or try a Gussett - they come highly recommended on here.
