Just saw this:

Think XX is nicer, and current XTR.

I am sure it will be decent stuff in the flesh. These early pictures never do it justice.

June 30th for full release of official stuff with an October on sale date.

Expensive - probably. Not sure even with exchange rates why top end groupsets (Super Record, XX, and probably new XTR) have gone up from about £900 to over £1,300.

Tat - not quite so sure about that one! None of the spy shots show anything truly ground breaking though.

Way over priced. I've done the XTR route, but never again. In fact ever since XTR I've slowly gone to XT, then LX and now SLX. And can't say I've noticed any difference.

It should have the choice of either double or triple, wether it will or not remains to be seen

The thread behind that picture does contain some 'insider' sneak views including the double option.

That's either bad photoshopping around 8 o'clock on the big chainring, or some 'interesting' tooth profiling...

I think the former! I guess the photographer wanted to disguise the source of the product.

And these:

Those brakes look light, callipers are rather reminiscent of the M960.

I kinda like those. Cranks still not as pretty as the M960s, but the brakes look sweet.

Rear mech looks well nice. wonder if the brakes are any more powerful than the old 970's, thought they were weak but always liked the look of them.

I wish Shimano would focus a little R&D on their freehubs, I've done three (2 deore and one XTR) in recent months.

No point in user serviceable bearings if you're replacing freehubs every 6 months!

Oh joy ANOTHER pad type for Shimano brakes. Dont like the brake levers, look like polished Haynes 9s in passing.

Wouldn't buy any of it simply because of the price, but that stuff looks pimp.

All we have to do is wait a year for it to trickle down and become affordable!

Don't like the finish, would prefer the ano-grey finish, but the style is nice.

Rear mech looks very similar to the current one, just with a UD cage and slightly more 'curvy' lines.

Have you seen the prices? Suspect it'll be rather cheaper than XX.

Rather odd it's still not actually been announced! All the photos are of a triple chainset too, I can't believe they wouldn't do a double, particularly as that's what all the early info showed.

There's bound to be a double. Can't quite believe the whole swastika vibe though, didn't any one mention it to them I wonder?

I certainly think they'd be daft not to, whatever they say about 'Dyna-Sis' it strikes me as crap!

I'm not sure that alone is going to be sufficient to push it into my sensibly affordable bracket, sadly

Arent swastikas the other way round?

depends whther they're the ancient symbol for good luck, or the the nazi symbol for being a nazi

Edit: would you believe there's actully a bit more to it than that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika
