I have a set of xt wheels but the person I got them off no longer has the valves for them. I have tried using a stans valve but doesnt sit in the groove so too much air is escaping. Do you have to use the proper shimano valves or is there a cheaper alternative that also works as the cheapest I can find the shimano ones for is £10 each

I'm currently using Stans Universal stems with no problems on XT rims.

Worth trying a valve from an old tube too.

Sorry just realised im using a bontrager valve. Will give the the old tube a try then order some stans universal stems. Cheers for the help
