anyone know how much pad clearance you can set up on the xt servo wave system. thinking of buying for winter bike for obvious reasons
You don't adjust where the pads sit- only at which oint the lever bites, and its naff anyway.
for what it's worth my SLX brakes have more pad clearance than my XTs do. And they are cheaper.
ah thought the free stroke adjuster had some effect? obviously not? was thinking of the slx as cheaper but wanted mono caliper not 2 piece for bit more power but as its for winter bike might save a few quid and go for bit more clearance

the free stroke screw is supposed to alter the point in the lever pull where the pad contacts the disc, but makes not difference to how far away from the disc the pad sits. To be honest though, it hardly seems to make any difference.
