Anyone know if XT M770 chain rings will fit on XTR M970 Crank set or should I fit the XT crank set and add an "R" with a marker pen?
I don't think they fit, it's a different BCD measurement for XTR.
Leave the marker pen in the drawer and get your wallet out instead. Empty it on the counter and ask the nice man for the bits. You know it will just bug you otherwise. It's only an 'R' but it's a big one.
I thougt that was the case for the M760 but I think the M970 went back to standard BCD. if you want new rings for the M970, try TA, they do a set especially for it.
I tried putting an XTR ring on an XT crank set and it didn't fit if that helps!
You are right Driller however I've already bought the XT cranks, delivery next week. Couldn't bring myself to pay the stupid asking price for XTR cranks or replacement rings (which are even more than the cranks) Need someone like Hope to start making them in the UK I reckon. Anyone from HOPE logged in???
