So I've managed to get hold of a nearly new Yeti Asr 5 alloy frame + Fox forks for a good price, whoop whoop!
I was going to upgrade to 2 x 10 gearing, but in order to save money am going to fit my 3x9 XT set up from my old bike, but will be replacing the shifters and rear mech as my current ones are a bit old and knackered.
I believe I need a long cage (which is the SGS right?) but am trying to work out whether I need the M770 or the M771 mech, I think these would be low normal and top normal respectively....
What's the difference between these 2 types of mech?

770 and 771 are 9 speed you need 773, 780 or 786 which is shadow + and well worth the extra. You'll need a SGS long cage if you plan to run a 11-36 cassette.
Yes they are 9 speed. Should be just right for my 3x9 which I'm fitting to my bike
I got the 771 sgs one from CR last week and is fine. Should be fine.
