Morning All
If I have a 38/26 chainset and 11/36 cassette will I need a long cage rear mech or will a medium suffice. I seem to recall something about minusing the big from small cogs front and back then adding together and then something else but I;ve slpet since then.

I used to run an XT medium cage on a 11-36 to 22-36 rings up front with no issues, so I'd imagine you'd be fine with that setup.

I ran a medium with 38/26 without issue.

Just a quick thought, what are the benefits of medium over long? Is it just less length to get caught on stuff?
