So, have had probs with the mech not keeping tension the last week. M772 shadow.
It's an absolute pain, unless pedalling chain jumps and skips constantly so have to keep it in the big ring and always keep tension on, even when sitting at lights.
Had taken it apart earlier this week, reseated spring and was fine.. Tried to do so again last night in work- not sure what went wrong but (P)spring sorta warped out of shape and little plastic round seal in mech housing shredded.
Anyone else had this problem?
Parts are listed on shimano website so guessing spares avsilable. Have never had to order spares though, is it going to be pricey? Should I just buy a new mech?

Me too, part no's from Madison- 5W7 2200, £1.49 and due in stock on 27/02/2012, 5UC 1400, £0.99 and in stock now. Can be ordered from just about any bike shop.
A lot cheaper than £55 for a whole new one then!
