I have a perfectly good 5 year old Shimano XT m756 rear hub but the rubber seal on the brake side has perished and split and is letting water into the hub bearings. Has anyone got a spare rubber seal or has a knackered hub with a servicable seal I can salvage.

Try Ultimate Pursuits (retail arm of Madison), or get your LBS to order one from Madison for you.

should be available as a spare or from an old hub at lbs. If it's the outer conical seal, don't worry so much as it's actually the inner seal which keeps water out

I may have as I suspect my hub is goosed.
It would be weekend before I can check it over though - would that be ok or do you need it sharpish?

dave_rudabar That would be fine theres no rush. Its been sat in the shed for months now waiting to be built up into a spare wheel to put a slick tyre on ready for the summer.

Looking at the weather forecast for the week ahead I definitely wont be needing any time soon ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
