Due to my ham-fistedness in installing the cranks with a brand new BB, I managed to break the part the covers the outside of the bearing seal and then wraps round the underside of the metal bearing housing. (Not sure if this description is clear?)
Can you get replacement parts, and if so, what is it I'm looking for? Or is it just writing off a brand new BB?

The top hat? I reckon someone here will be able to salvage one from an old bottom bracket.
