[Closed] XT gear cable installation question

I've recently bought some XT gear cables to use on my CX bike as the shifting has been rather poor of late and I've traced it back to a very rough running section of cable near the rear dérailleur.

All looks fine with the kit I've bought, but it has come with some rubber parts that aren't on my current bike. My questions are; what are they and where do they go?

Many thanks,

They go either side of the cable-stops to prevent the ingress of muck.
The thin extrusion goes into the stop.

EDIT: Badly formatted ASCII art 'drawing' removed as it made it more complicated!
😉

Hmm, ok, there's a better explanation / picture on the Shimano techdocs PDF for the XT771 r-mech here, give that a go.

Either way, I use them, and they seem to work pretty well for me, but I can see how sand / grit in there might become an issue.
