can i use my xt m780 10speed crank arm bolts on a single ring 32 tooth setup up front?

will they be to wide to fit through my hope 32 singlering? i know you can use specific bolts for singlering, but the lbs gave me some of the longer backed plates, so these would screw in further and lock?

only problem i can see with that is the actual xt bolts may be wider than the hope ring?

Generally no; the 'nuts' will be too long. Get some KCNC ones from ebay.

They will most likely be too long, however in the past I've cut down the 'female' part of the bolt by a few mm and they worked fine. It just requires a decent hacksaw blade and something to hold the bolt (in my case a bench vice).
