Ok, so before I spray some gt85 in there and rot a seal or something, can someone suggest a more sensible course of action?

pads out pump brakes to reveal pistons (not too much) and then use a thin item such as a match to dab some mineral oil (shimano brake fluid) on to the sides of the sticky piston and then push it back in. Repeat a few times and clean caliper to ensure no oil is left to contaminate pads.

Also look back through earlier postings as this problem has been brought up quite a few times. In one of them some type of red grease was being recommended.
